Dr. Hossam Abdel Ghaffar, the official spokesman for the Ministry of Health and Population, said that it did not require those planning to get married to undergo medical examinations together. or even in the same province.

Each of them may submit to it in his province, and it will be presented to each party on its own.

Medical examination date  

Hossam Abdel Ghaffar, the official spokesman for the Ministry of Health and Population, explained that the initiative targets those who are about to marry, Egyptians and non-Egyptians residing in Egypt, to conduct a medical examination and issue a health certificate.

Abdel Ghaffar Noting the need to conduct analyzes at least 14 days before the date of consummation of the marriage in order to obtain the results of the analyzes.

Importance of the initiative 

The initiative includes a package of medical examinations for those about to get married, for the early detection of many infectious and non-communicable diseases, to ensure that they are free of diseases that may affect them in the future or the possibility of disease transmission between them.

The Ministry of Health and Population revealed the services provided through the early marriage examination initiative.

The early marriage examination initiative is conducted include “hepatitis B virus, hepatitis C virus, immunodeficiency virus, diabetes, high blood pressure, obesity, blood type analysis, and hemoglobin level in the blood.”

The service in all governorates

The service was provided in all governorates of the Republic, with a number of about 302 medical centers and units, at the rate of at least one medical center within each health administration.

The service is continuously provided in all medical centers and units specified in this regard.

The Ministry of Health indicated that those intending to get married are scheduled to obtain a printed document secured with serial numbers and a QR code registered with the Ministry of Justice, containing the results of medical examinations, and which are required as part of the grounds for consummating the marriage.

The health units that provide the service under the initiative have reopened. The official working hours for the units and centers of the Ministry of Health and Population are from Saturday to Thursday.
