According to its latest amendments, the Antiquities Protection Law established penalties for harassing tourists by imposing fines of up to 10,000 pounds.

According to Article 53, a person shall be punished with a fine of no less than 3,000 pounds and not more than 10,000 pounds for anyone who harassed tourists and visitors while they were in archaeological sites or museums, against their will, with the intention of begging, promoting, offering, or selling a good or service for his own benefit or for the benefit of others.
