Ahmed Issa reviewed some positive indicators related to the movement of incoming tourism to Egypt, especially the rates of movement during the first three months of the current year (January-February-March).

Ahmed Issa, Minister of Tourism and Antiquities, chaired the fourth meeting of the Standing Committee for Licensing Hotel and Tourist Establishments, at the Ministry's headquarters in Zamalek.

30 million tourists

The most prominent developments that the tourism sector in Egypt is currently witnessing, which enhances the work mechanisms of this committee as a team towards achieving the goals of the Egyptian state from the tourism industry in Egypt, which is to reach 30 million tourists by 2028 and achieve continuous annual growth ranging from 25% to 30% annually.

Ahmed Issa reviewed some positive indicators related to the movement of incoming tourism to Egypt, especially the rates of movement during the first three months of the current year (January-February-March), pointing out that these indicators reflect the success of the Ministry's action plan and the mechanisms of the private tourism sector.

Tourism exchange

 On the other hand, Ahmed Eissa, witnessed today, Tuesday, the opening session of a professional workshop organized between a number of Egyptian and Chinese tourism companies and hotel establishments and Chinese tour operators to discuss ways to increase tourism exchange between the two countries, on the sidelines of the current visit of the Chinese Minister of Culture and Tourism to Egypt. 

Chinese Minister of Tourism and Culture HU Heping said that China and Egypt are tourist destinations with a good reputation for their resources, in addition to the potential for development.

He add, There are golden opportunities for joint cooperation between Cairo and Beijing, as China listed Egypt as one of the first tourist countries, pointing out that today's activities aim to pump new tourism power for cooperation between the two countries.

He stressed the need to enhance cultural exchange and increase tourism cooperation, especially since there are 500 Chinese and Egyptian tourism companies coordinating with each other to work.

The minister put forward several proposals including: 

1. Improving the tourism exchange mechanism

2. Exchanging individuals by enhancing communication expanding cooperation platforms and development opportunities  

3. Creating new tourism products

4. Maximizing smart tourism 

5. Benefiting from new technologies such as fifth generation technology and digitization.

6. Emphasis on commitment to the concept of sustainability and climate preservation

7. Focus on rural tourism in the future.

He stressing that this drives economic development and the Chinese and Egyptian society.
