The meeting witnessed the desire and mutual interest to develop bilateral relations between the two countries in all fields during the coming period.

For his part, Sameh Shoukry, Minister of Foreign Affairs, confirmed that the volume of trade exchange between Egypt and Italy amounted to $5 billion, and is eligible for an increase.

He pointed out that the Italian economy depends on small and medium industries, and this is in line with the Egyptian capabilities, in several fields such as transport, agriculture and energy.

Sameh Shoukry said, during his speech today, Sunday, at the press conference with his Italian counterpart, that Egypt seeks to always be a reliable partner.

The foreign minister stated that there are deep relations between Egypt and Italy, a common understanding between them, and a common culture.

He added that it was agreed to enhance cooperation between the two private sectors, through a forum to be held in Cairo, for Italian companies, to explore investment opportunities.

The meeting also reflected the mutual interest in developing areas of joint cooperation during the coming period.
