 Ahmed Eissa, Minister of Tourism and Antiquities, said that he expects the arrival of 15 million tourists at the end of this year a growth of 30% over last year.

5 million tourists come Egypt in 2022

He pointing out that the first half of 2022 came to Egypt about 5 million tourists, and the second half came about 6.7 million tourists, and the two months. The first two of the current year 2023 witnessed an increase of about 34% compared to the same period last year.

30,000 Russians arrived Egypt in 2022

Issa added, in statements on the sidelines of his meeting with the Egyptian-Lebanese Association for Businessmen, that the last week of July 2022 brought nearly 5,000 Russians from Russia, and during the last week of December of the same year, about 30,000 Russians arrived.

He explained that the Minister of Civil Aviation made a great effort in this regard to restore the Russian movement, and that no individual can succeed alone, and all efforts must be combined to succeed.

He explained that the distribution of tourists is currently better, but the destinations of Sharm el-Sheikh and Taba are the most affected by the decline in tourist traffic, explaining that all airports nationwide are witnessing an increase in operating numbers. Luxor Airport has witnessed during the past two months an increase of about 700% in the number of aircraft coming from it, but In the coming period, we will witness an increase in the number of tourists.

Eissa added that communication took place during the period with major tour operators and international institutions working in the field of tourism in Egypt to restore their confidence in the Egyptian destination and improve the tourism experience in Egypt.

In this regard, President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi directed to continue working to improve the tourism experience in Egypt in all aspects, including by enhancing integration between the tourism and aviation sectors, in a way that maximizes the added value of the unique tourism and cultural potentials available in Egypt, in addition to increasing the benefit from The infrastructure of airports, hotels and tourist destinations that have been built and modernized throughout the country during the past years, within an integrated and comprehensive development framework.
