Egypt is working to target a number of nationalities to provide treatment and health services to them through a group of distinguished health facilities, and to provide a number of tourism programs that represent an element of attraction for this category of tourists, in addition to providing more facilities regarding entry procedures to the Egyptian state to obtain health services.

Egypt has shown unparalleled interest in health tourism in Egypt and revealed the challenges facing this sector in Egypt.

Dr. Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, Minister of Health and Population, said that there are some challenges facing health tourism in Egypt, which the ministry is working to address, indicating factors for the success of sound health tourism, which must include the following: 

Competitive prices for health services.

Implementing marketing campaigns using multiple channels to promote Egypt as a unique destination for health tourism.

Work to provide health quality through health facilities accredited locally and internationally.

For his part, Ambassador Mohamed Negm indicated that work will be done to increase coordination and cooperation with different governments and countries, through diplomatic missions, with the aim of promoting the health tourism system in Egypt, and the facilities it includes in treatment procedures for those wishing to obtain health services, as well as facilities. regarding visa procedures.

The Minister of Health and Population discussed, during his attendance at a meeting with Dr. Mostafa Madbouly, Prime Minister, to follow up the health tourism file and ways to advance it, in cooperation with the ministries and concerned authorities through several steps, namely:

1- Establishing an independent health tourism authority.

2- Nominating hospitals participating in the health tourism program according to distinguished specializations.

3- Work to raise the efficiency of workers in health facilities and train them to deal with foreigners of all nationalities, while building a database to which those seeking treatment in Egypt resort, containing a list of the names of centers of excellence and participating hospitals.

4- Conducting marketing conferences on a regular basis.

5- Work on promotion in the ports through banners and promotional documentaries, in cooperation with the Ministry of Transport.

6- Establishing entry offices and facilitating the entry procedures for patients through land and sea ports.

7- Launching promotional campaigns in more than one language to facilitate communication.

8- Exploiting Visit Egypt to advertise medical tourism services and locations in Egypt.

9- Developing health tourism visas and facilitating their issuance.

10- Concluding international cooperation protocols with agencies and embassies.

11- Reducing the prices of airline tickets for this type of tourism.
