Trump face 34 criminal charges.. Will it affect his candidacy in the elections?

Donald Trump, the former president and front-runner to be the Republican nominee in 2024, will appear in court on Tuesday.

He is set to be formally charged, fingerprinted and shot at a watershed moment ahead of next year's presidential election.

Criminal charges

Trump was indicted last week, becoming the first sitting or former president to face criminal charges, in a case related to the 2016 payment of porn star Stormy Daniels. Trump has said he is innocent and is set to plead not guilty.

Trump is due to turn himself in on Tuesday amid tight security, when demonstrations are expected for and against a man who has angered liberals and some global allies but has been hailed by many blue-collar and conservative Christian voters.

Five photographers

A trial is planned, where Trump will be in court to hear charges and get a chance to plead Tuesday.

Trump's lawyers opposed the photography and press coverage, saying it would "exacerbate an already circus-like atmosphere around this case", detracting from dignity and decency.

Judge, Juan Merchan , ruled laten ,Monday, that five photographers will be admitted before the trial begins to take pictures for several minutes until they have to stop, with cameras allowed in the hallways of the building.

Democratic Attorney General Alvin Bragg, who led the investigation, will later hold a news conference in the afternoon.

Trump will return to Florida and deliver remarks from Mar-a-Lago at 8:15 p.m. On Tuesday, his office said.

Daniels said she was paid to remain silent about a sexual encounter she had with Trump at a Lake Tahoe hotel in 2006. Trump denies any such relationship with her.

Trump campaign

An indictment or even a conviction does not legally prevent Trump from running for president.

The Trump campaign raised $7 million in the three days after the indictment was announced last Thursday, senior adviser Jason Miller said, and released the latest of several fundraising emails, taking aim at what the media reported about the indictment.
