US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken said that many Middle Eastern countries are ready to invest in the future of Gaza, but they will only do so in the presence of a clear path to establishing a Palestinian state.

Peace must be achieved in the Middle East

Blinken explained during a press conference after talks in Tel Aviv with Israelis that “peace must be achieved in the Middle East, and this depends on the Palestinians obtaining their rights.”

The conflict does not expand

Blinken added that America is committed to working to prevent the conflict from expanding, and rejects any proposals that embrace the idea of displacing Palestinians from the Gaza Strip.

He continued: "We will respond if our interests in the region are threatened, and we seek to prevent the expansion of the conflict in the Red Sea, but we want to preserve freedom of navigation, as the Houthi attacks in the Red Sea had very negative effects."

Evaluation mission to return the displaced

Blinken referred to an agreement on a plan under which the United Nations would undertake an “evaluation mission” to return the displaced people in the Gaza Strip to their homes.

He pointed out that Washington believes that South Africa's genocide claim against Israel distracts the world from important efforts for peace and security.

The extent of Washington's ability to deal with Middle East issues

With Blinken's repeated tours in the region, and his inability to stop or calm the war, question marks arise regarding the extent of Washington's ability to deal with Middle East issues.

US Secretary of State, Anthony Blinken, confirmed today, Tuesday, that the process of returning Gazans to their homes in the northern Gaza Strip needs time and security coordination, indicating that Tel Aviv has agreed to the principle of sending a UN mission to assess the situation in northern Gaza.

On a related level, Israeli media announced that 37 Israeli soldiers were injured during the past 24 hours, including 11 in the Gaza Strip, according to Cairo News.

The Palestinian Ministry of Health announced that the number of victims of the Israeli aggression on Gaza has risen to 23,357 martyrs and 59,410 injured since last October 7.
