$2.9 billion investments..The most important information about the solar complex project in Assiut
The new diesel production complex project in Assiut is one of the most important projects implemented by the petroleum sector within the framework of the state’s plan to make the most of its resources and develop the governorates of Upper Egypt.
It is one of the most important value-added projects that aim to maximize the benefit of the state’s resources, by adopting the latest technological means of refining petroleum using the hydrocracking technology for diesel. It will convert the diesel produced from the Assiut Petroleum Refining Company refinery into high-value petroleum products, mainly diesel according to European specifications. According to statements by Engineer Tarek El Molla, Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources.
What was done in the project
The steps that were accomplished during the year after the arrival and installation of all major equipment in the project, including towers, reactors, furnaces, pressure vessels, heat exchangers, compressors, pumps, machines, equipment, and all tasks at the project site.
Major warehouses, utility stations, industrial and non-industrial buildings were also manufactured and installed, and many civil works and works of manufacturing and installing metal structures, pipes and cable laying were completed.
During the year 2024, it is planned to continue carrying out construction work in order to begin operating trials for some units.
The project, with an investment cost of about $2.9 billion, works to provide diesel with European Euro5 specifications, in addition to naphtha used in the production of high-octane gasoline, butane, sulfur as by-products, and other products.
Economic crises
On a related level, Dr. Mostafa Madbouly, Prime Minister, said that the state has borne many burdens since the beginning of the Russian-Ukrainian war and the economic crises that affected the world.
