Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan said that ministers from Arab and Islamic countries will visit China tomorrow, Monday, in the first leg of a tour aimed at ending the war in Gaza.

Prince Faisal said on the sidelines of the security summit held by the International Institute for Strategic Studies in Manama, Bahrain, that the tour will be the first step for the Islamic Ministerial Committee to implement the decisions reached at the Arab-Islamic Summit held in Riyadh earlier this month.

Convey a strong message

The minister indicated that the ministers will visit several other capitals after China to convey a strong message regarding reaching an immediate ceasefire and facilitating the entry of humanitarian aid into Gaza.

On Saturday, Prince Faisal discussed with European Union foreign policy chief Josep Borrell the developments of the situation in Gaza.

Speaking to reporters after the meeting, he said that although there is agreement within the international community on the importance of peace, there is not yet sufficient attention to the need for an immediate ceasefire.

He added, "We hope that at some point we will be able to relaunch efforts towards permanent peace by establishing a Palestinian state that guarantees security for all of us in the region, but the priority now is to end the fighting."

He added: "We must work together to ensure an end to this fighting and the civilian suffering that we witness every day in Gaza."

Israel launches continuous bombardment and ground attacks on targets in the Gaza Strip, which has so far led to the death of 12,300 people and the displacement of more than a million people.

European Union

On another level, Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan discussed with European Union foreign policy chief Josep Borrell yesterday, Saturday, developments in the situation in Gaza.

The two officials discussed the latest developments in the Gaza Strip, as well as the military escalation in the region, during a meeting on the sidelines of the Manama Security Summit held by the International Institute for Strategic Studies in Bahrain.

Prince Faisal rejected the continuation of the military escalation and violations against civilians in Gaza, and stressed the importance of stopping the escalation and forced displacement of Palestinians from the Gaza Strip.

The largest humanitarian aid convoy

Prince Faisal said: “We call on the international community to stop the occupation’s violations against civilians in Gaza.”

Yesterday, Saturday, Prime Minister Dr. Mostafa Madbouly launched the Long Live Egypt Fund convoy under the slogan “We Share for Humanity,” loaded with various relief and humanitarian aid to support the Palestinian brothers in the Gaza Strip, in implementation of the directives of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, to stand side by side with the brotherly Palestinian people.

The aid convoy includes 190 trucks containing more than 2,510 tons containing all urgent and necessary needs, the most important of which is the medical convoy.
