Reduce pension funds and marriage fees.. Issues worried the Egyptians

The government always comes out with statements explaining to citizens the truth of the circulating rumors, and among these rumors is the cancellation of citizens' pensions, which prompted the government to clarify the matter immediately.

The media center of the Council of Ministers contacted the National Authority for Social Insurance, which denied these reports, stressing that there is no truth in reducing the financial allocations for pensions coinciding with the global economic crisis, stressing the state’s commitment to fulfilling all dues and insurance privileges established for pensioners and their beneficiaries without reducing or prejudice them.
Emphasizing that the Ministry of Finance is committed to paying obligations on its regular dates, as an amount of 160.5 billion pounds has been paid from the budget for the fiscal year 2019/2020, and an amount of 170 billion pounds has been paid in the budget for the fiscal year 2020/2021, and an amount of 180 billion pounds has been paid from its general budget.
The fiscal year 2021/2022, with the allocation of about 190.5 billion pounds in the general budget 2022/2023, as well as an increase in pensions by 13% from April 1, 2022, to about 11 million pensioners and their beneficiaries, indicating that an exceptional grant of 300 pounds was disbursed For all pensioners, starting from November 1, 2022, at an additional cost of about 32 billion pounds annually, in order to deal with these exceptional circumstances, to support the most needy groups and limited pensioners.
The media center affirmed that the state is committed to fulfilling all insurance dues and privileges established for pensioners and their beneficiaries without reducing or affecting them, stressing that the Ministry of Finance is committed to paying obligations on their periodic dates, as it is clear that:
- An amount of EGP 160.5 billion has been paid from the fiscal year 2019/2020 budget.
- An amount of EGP 170 billion has been paid in the fiscal year 2020/2021 budget.
- An amount of 180 billion pounds has been paid from its budget for the fiscal year 2021/2022.
- About 190.5 billion pounds has been allocated in the general budget 2022/2023.
- Pensions increased by 13% from April 1, 2022, to about 11 million pensioners and their beneficiaries.
- An exceptional grant of EGP 300 was disbursed to all pensioners, starting November 1, 2022, at an additional cost of about EGP 32 billion annually, in order to deal with these exceptional circumstances, to support the neediest groups and those with limited pensions.
Fees For Marriage
On the other hand, the Egyptian law specified the fees for marriage and divorce, which the husband pays, in conjunction with the increasing imminence of the issuance of the new family law, with which many rumors spread about the fees that the husband pays to document marital contracts.
The law specified marriage fees, which are as follows:
• 100 pounds for each marriage incident paid by the husband, and 5 pounds for each extract from the marriage document.
• 100 pounds for each incident of divorce or review, to be paid by the divorced or reviewer, and 10 pounds for each extract from the divorce document.
• 20 pounds when obtaining the first extract of the birth certificate, and 5 pounds for each subsequent extract.
• 5 pounds for each extract of a death or family record certificate, and 5 pounds for issuing the national number card.
• A stamp valued at 5 pounds to support the care of the Egyptian family on all papers and documents issued by the various agencies and agencies.
