A new study stated that Saudi Arabia is likely to be the most attractive destination for travelers during the summer.

A study by the “Forward Keys” group, which specializes in travel analytics, said that there will be a 36% increase in the number of international arrivals to the Middle East and North Africa regions between June and August of this year compared to the same period in 2022.

Egyptian market

Tourism is one of the direct tributaries of foreign currency, and Egypt has many tourist attractions, whether beach or historical.

 In related context, Air ticket data from “Forward Keys” showed that the Egyptian market is pivotal, rising 109% from 2019 levels from June to August. The data also revealed that travelers from the Middle East and North Africa prefer nature reserves this summer.

Ahmed Eissa, Minister of Tourism and Antiquities, confirmed that there are many tourists around the world who have a great passion for the ancient Egyptian civilization, which was confirmed by the results of one of the marketing studies that were conducted during the last period.

As the segment of tourists who are looking to explore culture and antiquities came from the most segments that have a great demand to visit the Egyptian tourist destination.

Issa added that the important archaeological discoveries, which were reported by the local and international media, which in turn contributed to promoting tourism to Egypt, especially the cultural tourism product.

Saudi Arabia

The group confirmed that the demand for reservations to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is the highest, with an increase of 870% during the same period that witnesses the blessed Eid Al-Adha holiday and the performance of Hajj and Umrah rituals.

The study considered that Saudi Arabia will be the most booked destination for travel to in the Middle East and North Africa this summer, with an increase of 79% over the same period last year 2022.

In this context, Olivier Ponte, Vice President of Forward Keys, said that the tourism sector in the Middle East and North Africa is expected to continue its strong recovery during the summer months, thanks to the large increase in travel requests.

Searches for international flights to this region in the first three months of the year increased by 39% compared to the same period last year, thanks to enhanced connectivity between flights and more seats available to travel to Middle East and North African destinations internationally 19% from 2019 levels.

Thailand

Thailand came in second place, as demand for reservations increased by 233% compared to 2022 levels and +109% compared to 2019 levels.

Austria

Austria came in third place, up 25% from 2019 levels and is a cooler destination for those looking to escape the high temperatures of the Middle East.
