$52 billion.. Trade exchange between Bahrain and the world
The volume of non-oil commodity trade to the Kingdom of Bahrain amounted to about $29 billion, while the volume of oil commodity trade amounted to about $23 billion in 2022.
For the first time in the history of the Kingdom of Bahrain, the volume of its trade with the world increased to $52 billion, which is equivalent to 117% of the Kingdom's GDP.
The Information and eGovernment Authority revealed an increase in the volume of Bahrain's trade with the world to $52 billion in 2022, compared to trade of about $40 billion in 2021, and about $28 billion in 2020.
Non-oil commodity trade in 2022
The data confirmed that the volume of non-oil commodity trade to the Kingdom of Bahrain amounted to about $29 billion, while the volume of oil commodity trade amounted to about $23 billion in 2022.
Bahrain achieved a surplus in the advantages of foreign commodity trade amounting to about 8 billion dinars, due to the increase in the volume of foreign exchange revenues from the sale of aluminum and crude oil as a result of the rise in prices in global markets during 2022.

The volume of non-oil commodities imported by Bahrain increased to $14 billion in 2022, compared to about $12.72 billion in 2021, an increase of about 10%.
While imports of petroleum commodities rose to $7.9 billion in 2022 compared to about $4.7 billion in 2021, an increase of about 68%.
Exported increased
With regard to exports, the volume of oil commodities that were exported increased to $15 billion in 2022 compared to about $9.9 billion in 2021, an increase of 52%. As for non-oil commodity exports, they amounted to about $15.12 billion in 2022, compared to about $12 billion. in 2021, with a growth rate of about 22%.
The increase in the volume of trade exchange of the Kingdom of Bahrain with the outside world comes as a result of the rise in the prices of commodities and products that Bahrain exports in the global markets to unprecedented levels, especially for aluminum, then crude oil and refined petroleum products.
Commodity trade
With the decline in world prices in 2023, it is expected that the volume of commodity trade in the world will decline in terms of value, although it will remain stable in terms of quantity.
