$518 million... Qatar's investments in Egypt in 2022
Emir of the State of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, stressed the importance of strengthening economic relations and increasing the volume of Qatari investments in Egypt.
Bin Hamad explained that the Egyptian economy was going very well over the past years, and Egypt was making rapid progress in various sectors.
During the reception of the Emir of the State of Qatar, Prime Minister Dr. Mustafa Madbouly, bin Hamad explained that the Corona pandemic, followed by the Russian-Ukrainian crisis, cast a shadow on Egypt as it affected the rest of the world.
Tamim bin Hamad added that Egypt, despite the global crises, still has great potential, and it is important to continue with development efforts and plans.
Volume of Qatari investments in Egypt
Tamim bin Hamad pointed out that the coming period will witness an increase in the volume of Qatari investments in Egypt. Increasing the volume of cooperation between the two countries in all possible fields.
Bin Hamad expressed his country's pride in the Egyptian families and community living in Qatar.
The number of Egyptians in Qatar
Number of Egyptians residing in the State of Qatar will reach 141,000 by the end of 2021.
Volume of trade exchange
The volume of trade exchange between Egypt and Qatar increased during 2021 to $44.8 million, or 76.4%.
Exports and imports
The most important Egyptian exports to Qatar are furniture, machinery and electrical appliances.
The most important Egyptian imports from Qatar are manufactured products and organic chemical products.
Qatar's investments in Egypt
On the other hand, Qatar's investments in Egypt during 2021-2021 amounted to $518.7 million.
Economic relations between Egypt and Qatar have witnessed remarkable development in recent years. Qatar is the third largest Arab investor in Egypt during 2021/2022.
