The Qatar Investment Authority announced the sale of the French club Paris Saint-Germain, which was purchased in 2011, and Nasser Al-Khulaifi was appointed president of the club until now.

Today, eleven years after the deal, the Qatari owners announced their desire to sell the club in conjunction with the start of the World Cup in Qatar, although the club is Qatar's most prominent investment project.

In his interview with the British newspaper, the Financial Times, Nasser Al-Khulaifi stressed that the talks with some investors about selling Paris St. Strategic".

For eleven years, the Parisian team failed to achieve the most important goal on the sporting level, which is to win the Champions League, despite the historic and most expensive contracts in football history with the best stars in the world such as Neymar, Messi, Sergio Ramos, Kylian Mbappe, Zlatan Ibrahimovic and others.

Despite the failure at the European level, success was an ally of Paris in the local French competitions, as it won the league 8 times, which is the most important championship in France.

According to reports from Paris, the Qatari owners want to sell the club for more than $4 billion.

The British newspaper "Financial Times" revealed that talks have been taking place since last summer with some investors, including an American company, to sell a stake of up to 15 percent of the club.

The newspaper quoted club president Nasser Al-Khelaifi as saying, "The talks are taking place on the basis of an assessment amounting to more than 4 billion euros."

This comes at a time when American investors, owners of Liverpool and Manchester United, announced their desire to sell the two clubs in light of the current global economic crisis, which raises the question about whether there are real opportunities to sell the Parisian club to American owners at this stage or not?

The Qatari Investment Authority had bought the Parisian club for 70 million euros in 2011 and spent nearly one billion and 600 million euros on the players.

According to the Transfer Market website, the most resounding deal in the world was the one that took place in 2017 with the signing of the Brazilian former Barcelona striker Neymar for 222 million euros, which is the most expensive transfer deal that has occurred in the history of football so far.

Paris Saint-Germain has the sixth highest revenue among football clubs in Europe, and the football team earned 556 million euros last year, compared to 558 million euros for Manchester United and 550 million euros for Liverpool.

Among the club's most important sponsors are Qatar Airways and Nike Sports Company.
