4 conditions for transferring between social housing units...and the application period via the website

Social housing has gained the attention of a large segment of citizens, especially after the Ministry of Housing, Utilities and Urban Communities announced the opening of the door to transferring the reservation of social housing apartments that have residential units according to a number of conditions that must apply to those wishing to do so. This came within one of the social housing initiatives.

Mai Abdel Hamid, CEO of the Social Housing and Real Estate Finance Support Fund, indicated that the Ministry of Housing has provided an opportunity for applicants for social housing apartments to transfer from one unit to another, and the application is accepted based on a set of conditions set by the Social Housing Fund.

Mai Abdel Hamid explained that the transfer period available for social housing apartments begins on Tuesday, October 10, 2023, and ends on Tuesday, the 24th of this month. She continued that the citizen can transfer within the same governorate, such as citizens submitting the tenth announcement to reserve a residential unit in the city of October Gardens.

She also stated that citizens can transfer to another neighboring governorate, and this is available to citizens from the cities of Basyoun and Samannoud in Gharbia Governorate, within the twelfth announcement, and they can transfer to Sadat Governorate in Menoufia.

Conditions for transferring between social housing apartments

Mai Abdel Hamid said that there are conditions for a citizen to be able to transfer between social housing apartments, including:

1- Failure to recover the seriousness of the reservation deposit from the original advertisement.

2- Not previously allocating a residential unit to the client on the same original project applied for.

3- The conditions of the original advertisement apply to the customer’s request at the time of submission.

4- The client must not have previously transferred from the original project applied for, in addition to the fact that the client has no right to withdraw the transfer request after submitting it once the original project units are available.

She explained that if the number of applicants for transfer between social housing units increases, priority will be given to specific groups in society.

- Married people with dependents, including (the widower/widow, and the dependents of the divorced/divorced woman).

- Priority goes to the youngest, and in case of equal age, priority goes to the largest family.

- Married people, priority goes to the youngest.

- Single and priority for younger people.

Steps for converting to social housing apartments

1- The citizen must access the website.

2- Click on “Citizen Service Center”.

3- Click on the “Orders” button.

4- Then click on the “Request to modify the desire to reserve the residential unit” button.

5- Then choose to transfer to a city/center in the same governorate or transfer to a city/center in a neighboring governorate during the announcement period.

6- If the application is accepted after studying it, the citizen submitting the application must go to one of the automated post offices within a period of 15 days from the date of the result of accepting the application on the website to pay the serious transfer fees (35 pounds).
