Then the Netherlands 641.4 million dollars, then China 418.6 million dollars, then Switzerland 388.6 million dollars, and finally Kuwait 282.2 million dollars.
Foreign direct investment
The value of net foreign direct investment recorded $5.7 billion during the first half of the last fiscal year 2022/2023, compared to $3.3 billion during the same period of the fiscal year 2021/2022, an increase of $2.4 billion, an increase of 75.4%.
Foreign investments amounted
The Statistics Authority said that foreign investments amounted to 4.2 billion dollars during the fiscal year 2013/2014, compared to 3.8 billion dollars during the previous year, with a growth of 11.3%. $6.9 billion in 2015/2016, up 8.7% from the previous year.
Investments increased
On the other hand, investments increased to $7.9 billion in 2016/2017, an increase of 14.4% over the previous year, and decreased in the following year to record $7.7 billion, a decrease of 2.7%. Investments continued to decline, reaching $5.2 billion, a decrease of 30% from the previous year, and with the efforts of the state, it rose again to reach $8.9 billion in 2021/2022, an increase of 71.4%.
Companies established
The number of companies established in accordance with the investment laws reached 31.2 thousand companies during the fiscal year 2021/2022 compared to 28.5 thousand companies during the fiscal year 2020/2021, an increase of 9.2%. The capital value of these companies recorded EGP 117.4 billion during the fiscal year 2021/2022 compared to 84.9 billion pounds during the fiscal year 2020/2021, an increase of 38.3%.
The Egyptians acquired the largest share of the capital value of the companies that were established according to the investment laws, at a value of EGP 108.9 billion during the year 2021/2022, or 92.8% of the total capital, followed by Arabs, with a value of EGP 5.2 billion, or 4.5%, and finally foreigners, amounting to EGP 3.2 billion, or 2.7%. %.
The services sector
The services sector came at the top of the list of the highest sectors in which companies were established during the fiscal year 2021/2022, as the number of companies reached 17.1 thousand companies, followed by the industry sector 5.2 thousand companies, then the construction sector 4.4 thousand companies, then the communications and information technology sector 2.4 thousand companies. companies, then the agricultural sector 1.5 thousand companies, then the tourism sector 496 companies, and finally the financing sector 27 companies.
Construction sector
The construction sector accounted for the largest share of the capital value of companies that were established according to investment laws during the fiscal year 2021/2022, as the value of the companies’ capital amounted to 57.1 billion pounds, followed by the services sector 29.3 billion pounds, then the industry sector 22.2 billion pounds, then The agricultural sector amounted to 3.6 billion pounds, then the tourism sector amounted to 2.1 billion pounds, then the communications and information technology sector amounted to 1.7 billion pounds, and finally the financing sector amounted to 1.4 billion pounds.
