Egyptian banks provided ATMs with money, in light of the disruption of work from Friday until tomorrow, Monday, on the occasion of Easter and Sham El-Nessim.

The National Bank of Egypt launched a new service that allows its customers to withdraw cash from the nearest service provider affiliated with the National Bank, through electronic point-of-sale (POS) machines, in contrast to the traditional methods of withdrawing money through ATMs.

In a statement on Facebook, the National Bank stated that holders of National Bank of Egypt cards, direct debit cards, and prepaid cards issued by local banks can go to the nearest market or gas station from the places mentioned below and request a cash withdrawal from your card.

Through electronic point-of-sale (POS) machines available at the station or market for free and without additional fees, noting that the service is subject to the local cash withdrawal limits applied to each bank separately and to each card separately.

Cash withdrawal locations

Customers of the National Bank can obtain cash through the bank’s partners nationwide, through gas stations and various commercial chains, which are spread across all governorates of Egypt.

Banking sector holidays

Banking sector holidays up to 11 days, after the Central Bank’s decision to suspend work in banks on Sunday and Monday 16 and 17 April 2023, and to suspend work from next Thursday until the following Tuesday, provided that work resumes on Wednesday.

There are emergency and technical support teams to follow up on any malfunctions, and to intervene immediately to deal with them throughout the official holidays in the banking sector.
