“start” initiative, which aims to localize and encourage the Egyptian industry in a way that helps increase job opportunities for Egyptian youth and reduce the import gap in an appropriate manner that raises the value of Egyptian products, since its launch in October 2021.
President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi to link the “Start” initiative with the “Decent Life” initiative, in addition to establishing partnerships with major foreign manufacturers and importers who possess technological industrial expertise, in addition to taking care to legalize the conditions of violating factories.
“start” initiative business plan relied on a strong database, and then negotiations took place between the initiative and more than 100 Egyptian and foreign companies to share the initiative in its dreams.
More than 65 major partnerships have been concluded and more than 65 projects have been implemented with more than 33 Egyptian investors and more than 24 foreign investors from 14 foreign countries.
Attract foreign investments
The initiative continues to attract foreign investments in order to contribute to the establishment of many factories on the land of Egypt to manufacture Egyptian products and reduce the volume of products imported from abroad.
This will benefit the Egyptian economy and save foreign currency, while increasing the volume of exports from 12 to 14 billion dollars.
New projects
The initiative plans to open more than 25 projects before the end of 2023 and 9 projects during 2024.
Officials in the initiative said in the report that more than 200 technical and coordination meetings were held with partners and official authorities, through which the action plan was developed, and the transition from the stage of investment transformations to the stage of legal understandings and the establishment of industrial companies took place.
After that, the engineering designs were completed in 8 of the projects, and we started the civil construction in 6 projects, such as the drinking water and sewage components factory, the light transport factories complex, and other factories.
