What Gigi Hadid say about “Al-Aqsa Storm”?
Days after the horrific Hamas attacks on Israel which called “Al-Aqsa Storm”, Palestinian-American model Gigi Hadid published a lengthy statement condemning the “terrorization of innocents” and sharing her hopes for the future of Palestine.
Palestine flag
The 28-year-old half-Palestinian model, who has long flown the flag of the Free Palestine movement, spoke out about what happened to the Israelis, the repercussions of which are now being felt in the Gaza Strip.
While she showed courage in speaking publicly about the war, which caused her severe criticism.
Some have condemned it for failing to denounce Hamas directly, and others have accused it of “playing both sides” and “forgetting” its roots.
In a carefully crafted Instagram post, published on Tuesday, she wrote: “My thoughts are with everyone affected by this senseless tragedy, and every day this conflict claims innocent lives – many of them children".
She then stressed that she feels “deep sympathy and heartbreak for the Palestinian struggle and life under occupation” (the West Bank has been occupied by Israeli forces since 1967), which she described as “a responsibility I bear daily.”
“It feels a lot of complex, personal and valid emotions,” she said, “but she added every human being deserves basic rights, treatment and security; they deserve to have their basic rights regardless of their nationality, religion, race or where they were born.”
Concluding her message, she admitted, "I know that my words will never be enough or heal the deep wounds of so many, but I always pray for the safety of innocent lives."

The post received nearly 900,000 likes on Instagram in just 10 hours, but comments were disabled.
However, communities were quick to express their thoughts on Hadid's stance across other social media platforms.
In a related context, Gigi Hadid recently separated from her lover, British singer Zayn Malik, the father of her only daughter, “Kai” after a quarrel with Gigi’s mother, “Yolanda” which led to him assaulting her by beating her, according to what TMZ revealed.
For his part, the singer Zayn Malik denied, in a statement he issued, that he hit the mother of his beloved and the grandmother of his daughter, “Yolanda,” the mother of Dutch origin, known as a former television star in the United States of America, who gave birth to 3 children, namely: Gigi, Bella, and Anwar, with the Palestinian businessman Muhammad Hadid.
Zayn Malik confirmed in the statement he issued on his Twitter account that everything that happened between him and Gigi’s mother "included nothing more than an exchange of harsh words, and I strongly refuse that I hit her, and for the sake of my daughter, I refuse to mention any other details".
