EGP32 billion to implement development and service projects in the governorates
Major General Hisham Amna, Minister of Local Development, directed the need to maximize the benefit from the implemented projects to achieve a better life for citizens and provide job opportunities.
He announced that about 32 billion pounds of the total funds allocated for the implementation of development and service projects in villages, cities and governorate centers had been made available until mid-May.
35.8 billion pounds
He Pointing out that the total investments of the plan for the current fiscal year 2022/2023 amount to about 35.8 billion pounds.
1.8 billion pounds
Projects have been implemented to extend electricity networks for new residential areas, replace and renew existing networks, and supply lighting equipment to provide electricity to citizens for domestic uses, with investments of 1.8 billion pounds.
The works carried out by the governorates included the supply and installation of lighting poles, low-voltage electricity transformers, cable laying, the supply and installation of lighting fixtures and energy-saving lamps, in addition to the purchase of maintenance tower cars and other equipment.
EGP 20.3 billion
The Minister of Local Development pointed out that an amount of EGP 20.3 billion has been spent to pave roads to connect villages and cities within the governorate to facilitate the process of moving and transporting products, and facilitating the process of trade exchange to raise the economic situation and implement paving local roads.
He pointing out that the plan projects emphasize the importance of commitment to applying efficiency and effectiveness standards in determining investment priorities, and ensuring fair distribution, in order to maximize the return from public investments.
4.3 billion pounds
Spending an amount of 4.3 billion pounds to improve the environment of the governorates by purchasing cleaning equipment, covering drains within the residential block, raising the efficiency of waste recycling plants, and beautifying the entrances to villages, cities, public squares, and streets to preserve the health of citizens.
The plan also aims to implement projects with an economic return, facilitate movement between villages and cities, solve traffic jams, and facilitate the transportation of products to improve the economic situation of citizens, and the environmental situation to preserve the health of citizens.
