EGP 91 billion.. Set-up costs of 965 infrastructure projects

President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi stressed that we need to double the number of beds and hospitals in Egypt to keep pace with the population increase, which is estimated at 105 million citizens.

Solve difficult challenges

He added, during his speech at the activities of the Second African Medical Conference and Exhibition, that the initiative to end the waiting lists, when it was presented to him 4 years ago, started with 12 thousand patients, and now the number has increased to include 1.9 million citizens within 4 years.

He pointed out that the initiatives are ideas to try to solve difficult challenges in order to improve people's lives from a health perspective.He explained that Egypt was keen to play a very important role in improving health conditions in Africa.

President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi confirmed, at the beginning of his speech, that Egypt will soon celebrate the elimination of the C virus, according to the standards of the World Health Organization.

Health sector

In related context, Dr. Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, Minister of Health and Population, said that the advancement of the health sector began with the establishment of advanced infrastructure, hospitals and health centers in all governorates. For social justice

91 billion pounds

He indicated interest to everything that is organized, glorified and operated in this system, which is the medical sector, technicians and health services provided, pointing out that there are 965 infrastructure projects at a cost of 91 billion pounds.

Second African Medical Conference

The Minister of Health and Population explained, during the launching ceremony of the activities of the Second African Medical Conference and Exhibition, that some hospitals are suffering, but work is underway on them with the support of the political leadership.

He added, the world is witnessing to Egypt the extent of the development that has taken place in the medical sector, as there is interest in the origin and medical services, and development is underway for the entire health system at the level of the Republic.

Huge project

He pointed out that President El-Sisi approved a huge project for the development of basic care and its units nationwide, 5,436 units nationwide through a decent life and other projects, in which all health care is provided to all health personnel, and all of them are being completed in 2024.

President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, inaugurate, today Tuesday, the activities of the second African medical conference and exhibition, “Africa Health ExCon”, at the Egypt International Exhibition Center (Al-Manara Center for International Conferences).

The events scheduled to take place during the period from (6 to 9) June 2023, will witness the global participation of more than 90 countries, in addition to more than 1,200 speakers.
