The development targeted the entire station building, the development of the sidewalks, the extension of water, fire and signal lines, as well as the construction of an alternative building for the equipment store, the development of a pedestrian tunnel to connect the sidewalks, the development of the external square and the internal and external facades, in coordination with the Urban Coordination Authority, to preserve its archaeological appearance.
New lighting fixtures were also installed at the station and new kiosks on the sidewalks according to the new system of kiosks, as well as work to raise safety and security levels on the sidewalks that are being developed in order to preserve the safety of passengers.

Information about the Egypt Station Development Project in Alexandria
- The Cairo-Alexandria railway extends 208 km.
- Signage systems development work was carried out by the international Spanish company, Thales, with a modern electronic system (EIS), which achieves the highest levels of safety and has the" SIL4" (Safety integrity level) certification, the fourth level security rate, and this is the highest safety rate in the world.
- The project consisted of 19 main towers, 15 secondary towers, and 80 slides.
- During the last period, 14 main towers entered service, which are Quesna - Berket El Sabaa - Kafr El Zayat - Itay El Baroud - Damanhour - Abu Homs - Toukh - Sindenhour - Kafr El Dawar - Qaha - Qalyoub - Sidi Jaber - Shubra - Al Tawzib, as well as 12 secondary towers and 67 slipways.
- The modernization of railway signaling systems aims to replace the old current electrical system with a modern electronic one, increase the number of trips per day and achieve the highest levels of safety and security.
