Increasing investments in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is one of the features of its Vision 2030 AD, so that the Kingdom will be one of the best performing countries in the investment markets, and among the facilities provided to the foreign investor is assistance in establishing his investment project.
Coordinating with government agencies, providing advice on means of applying for licenses, services and visas required to start work, and coordinating with agencies specialized in helping to start working in the Kingdom.
In the beginning, in order for the foreign investor to determine the extent of his benefit from the investment in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, he must familiarize himself with the conditions for granting a license for foreign investment in Saudi Arabia, as follows:
First: Conditions for granting a license for foreign investment in Saudi Arabia:
• The investment activity required to be licensed should not be included in the list of activities excluded from foreign investment in the Kingdom.
• The technical specifications of the product and its production method must be in conformity with the Saudi, Gulf or international specifications.
• The license applicant should not have had final judgments or decisions issued against him due to fundamental violations of the provisions of the Saudi Foreign Investment Law.
• The license applicant should not have had previous judgments issued against him, including judgments in financial or commercial violations, whether inside or outside the Kingdom.
• The license applicant must abide by the conditions, controls, declarations and undertakings attached to the investment license application form.
• The granting of the license shall achieve the investment objectives and the objectives of the Ministry of Investment.
Second: Procedures for obtaining a foreign investment license in Saudi Arabia
Submitting applications for obtaining a license through the website of the Ministry of Investment in accordance with Article 7 of the executive regulations of the foreign investment system in Saudi Arabia, With the attachment of the required documents according to each activity, as stipulated in the Services Guide issued by the Saudi Ministry of Investment in 2020.
It is worth noting that if the attachments are in English, they must be translated into Arabic from an accredited office in the Kingdom, and the Saudi Minister of Investment is competent to decide on foreign investment licensing applications in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
