Egypt and India issued a joint statement during President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi's visit to India from January 24 to 26, 2023, to allocate land for Indian industries in the Suez Canal area.

 

President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi and Prime Minister Narendra Modi held separate and expanded talks, in the presence of the delegations of the two countries, in an atmosphere of friendship and understanding. The two delegations exchanged views on bilateral, regional and international issues of common concern.

 

The two leaders expressed their appreciation for the fruitful cooperation between the two sides at the bilateral level and in international forums.

 

The two sides seek to maximize common interests and enhance mutual support to overcome the difficulties arising from the various crises and successive challenges facing the world.

The two sides discussed strengthening political and security cooperation, deepening economic participation, strengthening scientific and academic cooperation, as well as expanding cultural and popular contacts.

 

 

The two leaders agreed to work closely together during India's G20 presidency, and reaffirmed that the interests and priorities of the "global south" should be a focus in major global forums, including the G20.
