After the end of COP27 .. Huawei and Orange Egypt pledge new energy-saving networks

According to the plan agreed upon by the two communication companies, it aims to improve grid energy efficiency by increasing the use of green energy to replace traditional fossil fuel energy.

New ICT technologies are being used to support energy conservation and pollution reduction in many industries, and innovations in communications networks, for example, can reduce carbon emissions and provide better experiences.

It can be said that by partnering with Orange Egypt, Huawei aims to increase environmentally friendly energy production and promote the industry's transition to green energy supply and green electricity.

Huawei and Orange Egypt started POC testing with a hybrid solution to save energy and save fuel in 2019.

The results of this test exceeded expectations, reducing fuel consumption by about 60% and diesel runtimes by about 70%.

Huawei also offers a number of hybrid and lithium battery solutions that it plans to roll out at hundreds of Orange Egypt locations to reduce overall expenditures by about 40% and carbon emissions by about 45%.

For his part, Ayman Amiri, Chief Technology Officer of Orange Egypt, said, “Orange Egypt will continue to promote its green environmental development strategy. With greater determination and strength, we will resolutely implement the national strategy to actively combat climate change and work with Huawei to build a green and advanced network system with low-carbon development.”

Huawei SingleRAN Product Line President Jiang Xudong said, “Continuing our innovations in green equipment, green sites and green networks will help operators increase network traffic while preventing increased energy consumption. It will also promote highly efficient green 5G networks.  which has been developed with reduced carbon output.

Tim Chu, CEO of Huawei Egypt Carrier Business, added, “As a trusted partner for operators in Egypt, Huawei will continue to provide innovative ICT solutions to help operators build efficient and environmentally friendly 5G networks, save energy, reduce emissions, and develop an environment-based society.”

Huawei and Orange Egypt have committed to continue working together to develop an innovative green energy system that will allow them to increase the use of green energy to supply green energy and electricity
