Head of the Capital Gardens City Authority: We aim to implement 9000 housing units in the "Green Building" project
Today, Sunday, the Ministry of Housing, Utilities and Urban Communities began handing over the units of the "Misr housing" (sakan misr) project in aria, West Universities, in New Cairo.

The head of the New Cairo City Authority indicated that the unit delivery schedule is as follows:
• Building units No. 50, today, Sunday, May 21, 2023.
• Building Units No. 51, on Monday, May 22, 2023.
• Building Units No. 56, on Tuesday, May 23, 2023.
• Building Units No. 57, on Wednesday, May 24, 2023.

He also noted that the customer should go to the Housing and Development Bank, Nasr City branch, in order to finalize the contracting procedures in the bank, then go to the city’s apparatus in the Third Settlement with the original bank letter and a copy of the signed checks, in order to record the data on the network and receive a letter to the site to inspect and receive the unit.
Green building project
On a related level, Dr. Assem El-Gazzar, Minister of Housing, Utilities and Urban Communities, followed the progress of work on the "green architecture" project within the presidential initiative housing all Egyptians, which is being implemented in light of the green architecture initiative launched by the Social Housing and Real Estate Finance Support Fund.
The project, in cooperation with the World Bank, and the Building and Housing Research Center, aims to build 25,000 housing units approved by the Green Pyramid classification system for social housing, in 4 Egyptian cities (Hadayek Al-Asimah, New Obour, New Aswan, Hurghada).
The project comes in implementation of the recommendations of the Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP 27), which was held in Sharm El-Sheikh last November.
Green housing model
What distinguishes the green housing model "green architecture" is the use of environmentally friendly building materials and architectural solutions suitable for the climate to reduce carbon emissions and save on water and electricity consumption, as a result of relying on renewable energy sources such as solar energy, which provides 20% of the citizen's electricity consumption, and recycling.
Engineer Alaa Abdallah, Head of the Capital Gardens City Authority, explained that a number of buildings are being implemented, including more than a thousand housing units, in the project, which is scheduled to include about 9,000 housing units, with a total of “402 buildings.”
These units were offered in the last quarter of last year 2022, and the rest of the offering is being completed. More than 50 contracting companies specialized in this field will participate in the implementation. The implementation is supervised by accredited supervisory bodies to ensure the quality of the works.
He adding that coordination has been made with the Technical Support Unit at the Ministry of Housing and the Planning and Projects Sector of the New Urban Communities Authority to fully implement the project.
Eng. Alaa Abdullah indicated that within the framework of taking into account sustainability standards in the implementation of projects, sustainable green paths and sustainable transportation paths have been established.
He explains that the Trees that grow horizontally were selected to take advantage of the shade of trees. Soil was used to save water, take into account the traffic of people with special needs, and implement ramps at the entrance to each building.
Pointing out that bicycle paths with a length of more than 5 km have also been implemented in various regions.
