Today, President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi receives the Prime Minister of Japan, and they hold an Egyptian-Japanese summit in Cairo.

The Japanese Prime Minister is scheduled to visit Egypt for three days, to be his first destination at the start of his African tour.

Counselor Ahmed Fahmy, spokesman for the Presidency of the Republic, stated that the Egyptian-Japanese talks will deal with ways to enhance the distinguished bilateral relations between the two countries and discuss the state of peace and security at the international and regional levels.

Relations between the two countries have witnessed unprecedented developments since President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi assumed the presidency in 2014.

 Egyptian-Japanese relations witness great cooperation in the field of education during the era of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi.

The number of Egyptian-Japanese schools in Egypt is currently 51 in 26 governorates, with 147 students of determination, 2,000 male and female teachers, principals, agents and administrators, and 11,850 male and female students in grades from kindergarten to the fifth grade of primary school.

Trade exchange

The volume of trade exchange between Egypt and Japan reached $1.6 billion in 2021, and the value of Japanese investments in Egypt increased by 98.7% to reach $73.7 million in 2022.

Egyptian exports

As for Egyptian exports to Japan, they recorded $554.4 million in 2021, with fuel and mineral oils at the forefront of Egyptian exports to Japan in 2022.
