"won money for nothing" .. Google mistakenly sends money to users
Google Pay

Google company sent Google Pay users' accounts with cash amounts of up to $1,000 by mistake.

users began to notice the matter on Tuesday 8-4-2023, after a number of them asked on social media about the reasons for transferring the amount to them.

Among the users was tech journalist Mishaal Rahman, who posted a tweet on Twitter saying, “looks  Google Pay It's giving users free money at random right now," he said, using a screenshot of the sums he received.

Users on Reddit are starting to compare the money they've received in a series of posts, wondering how to make the most of it.

Google Pay users feedback

"Now I've got almost $100 in 6 different cashback rewards for testing the Google Money Transfer experience," one user wrote.

Also, cash rewards were supposed to be distributed to company employees for what is called a “trial use” experience in which developers use their own product, such as: an application, for a period of time with the aim of testing, before it is released.

For some unknown reason, these compensation payments were sent to a group of random users.

company reaction

About the company's reaction, it explained that it was an electronic error via an e-mail that it sent days later to the users.

the company added " we received this email because an unintended cash balance has been deposited in your Google Pay account, the problem has since been resolved, and where possible, the balance has been cancelled”.

Google did not charge additional fees to individuals who mistakenly withdrew the free credit that was deposited in their account, in order to get the required amount back.

Google explained that individuals can keep the balance without having to return it back to the company, noting that the company does not seek to engage in some pursuits for users after this error to recover the money again.
