«Until the end of October» .. Opening a free account for citizens on the occasion of World Savings Day
This step comes as part of the activities of the Financial Inclusion Initiative of the Central Bank of Egypt, and banks are working to receive requests from new customers to open savings accounts for free for a period of 15 days until the end of this October.
Banks made it possible to open savings accounts for free for new customers in the form of the national number only, and to issue direct debit and prepaid bank cards without calculating any administrative expenses on the occasion of the International Savings Day.
This step comes as part of the activities of the Financial Inclusion Initiative of the Central Bank of Egypt, and banks are working to receive requests from new customers to open savings accounts for free for a period of 15 days until the end of this October.
According to the announcement of a number of banks on their official pages, according to the initiative of the Central Bank, banks have 6 activities to open a bank account for every citizen for free, known as the (financial inclusion initiative) with the aim of attracting non-dealers with the banking system.
These events include: Arab Financial Inclusion Day in April, International Women’s Day in March, International Youth Day in August, Al Falah Festival in September, World Savings Day in October, and International Day of People of Determination in December.
As for the types of banking services provided to new customers for free in banks, starting tomorrow, Sunday, and the activities they implement to promote this, on the occasion of the World Savings Day.
Opening accounts for new customers without fees and without a minimum.
Issuing prepaid cards - credit cards to customers and encouraging them to activate and use them in purchase transactions.
Encouraging e-wallets customers to activate and use their wallets.
Subscription to the internet and mobile banking service is free of charge.
Provide and sponsor financial education activities for all groups.
Printing the financial inclusion brochure and distributing it to the public.
- Making media coverage of the event through social media and announcing the activities by electronic means for each bank.
Sending introductory text messages to telecom company customers to introduce events and announce that banks open accounts for new customers without fees.
Allowing banks to be outside their branches during the mentioned period and offering appropriate banking products, provided that the banking affairs sector of the Central Bank is informe.
