The Israeli army revealed footage of the largest underground tunnel belonging to the "Hamas" movement discovered so far, which extends from the Jabalia camp for a distance of 4 kilometers near the border with Israel in the northern part of the Gaza Strip near the Erez crossing, and can accommodate hundreds to thousands of people. And its intervention, located near Israeli territory, was efficiently hidden.

According to estimates, Hamas intended to use this tunnel to carry out a large-scale attack against Israeli army soldiers in the last days of the war, and in recent weeks, a number of activists tried to ambush Israeli army soldiers from the tunnel, but were thwarted and neutralized, and as a result, began The tunnel is gradually revealing itself.

The newspaper pointed out that the Israeli army is not sure why Hamas did not keep the secret of the tunnel for its original purpose, and estimates indicate the existence of additional tunnels near the Israeli border.

During the weekend, the Israeli army revealed to journalists only one branch of the tunnel, located hundreds of meters from the Erez crossing, and this specific branch served as a channel for thousands of Gazan workers who enter Israel daily to work, and the exposed tunnel is cylindrical and is considered narrow, with a height of three to four meters and its width is about five meters, which allows vehicles to pass through its structure.

Permanent occupation of the Gaza Strip

Dr. Muhammad Fayez Farhat, director of the Al-Ahram Center for Strategic Studies, had said that since the beginning of the crisis of Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip on October 7, there has been talk within some American think tanks and dangerous statements by officials in Israel about the post-war scenario on Gaza.

He added that the United States of America confirmed that there is no room for a permanent occupation of the Gaza Strip by Israel, and no room either for cutting off any parts of the strip, in addition to that there was confirmation that Gaza and the West Bank are one unit and the basis of the Palestinian state project.

He explained that the Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu does not admit this yet, and makes dangerous statements about the complete elimination of Gaza, which confirms the weakness of the American position in the face of Israel, while the internal Israeli tensions indicate that Netanyahu may not be in power when the fate of Gaza is decided after the war

He pointed out that Netanyahu's statements are due to several factors, including the weakness of the American position towards Israel, despite Biden's criticisms and his demand for changes in the Israeli government to remove the extremist ministers, and reports of setting a time limit for the aggression by America, the results of the visit of the American National Security Advisor to Israel revealed the real weakness of America in front of Israel.
