According to Spanish newspaper Marca, and other English and French media outlets, Cristiano Ronaldo could be on the verge of joining Saudi club Al-Nassr on a world record two-and-a-half-year contract worth almost $518 million.

An official at Al-Nasr Club revealed to AFP, that Portuguese player Cristiano Ronaldo “has not yet signed” for Al-Nasr Club.

The move by the footballing superstar would be by some distance the most dramatic in the history of Saudi and Asian football, and would likely attract millions of new international followers to the Saudi Pro League and, potentially, the AFC Champions League.

Daily mail news says that the 37-year-old is reportedly in line to earn £1.2billion over seven years - two and half spent playing for Al-Nassr, the rest in an ambassadorial role.

Ronaldo's sister published news about Ronaldo's approach to joining the Saudi victory, through her personal account on the social networking site "Instagram", and commented: "The story of the end of the year" with the addition of sarcastic symbols.

200 million euros per season

And the Spanish newspaper “Marca” confirmed that Al-Nasr Club had reached an agreement with Cristiano Ronaldo to sign him for two and a half seasons, in exchange for 200 million euros per season.

It is noteworthy that Ronaldo “recently” terminated his contract with the English club Manchester United, by mutual consent, after the Portuguese star attacked the management of the English club and Dutch coach Tin Hag.
