The Ministry of Health announces many initiatives that concern a wide segment of citizens, especially mothers and children.

Given that children are among the priorities of the state and cares for them with great interest, the Ministry of Health and Population announced the locations of the national polio vaccination campaign.

It is scheduled that the national campaign for vaccination against polio will be launched during the period from 11 to 14 December in many places, including: “Health offices, health units, medical centers, major squares, train stations, subways, buses, gathering places, and near mosques, churches, clubs, markets, and parking lots.” Travel and public gardens", and also through moving teams from apartment to apartment nationwide.

Vaccination of 16 million children

It is noteworthy that the Ministry of Health and Population announced the launch of a national campaign to vaccinate against polio, during the period from December 11 to 14, 2022, and aims to vaccinate children from one day to 5 years of age for free, for Egyptians and non-Egyptians alike, to keep Egypt free of polio  the disease.

It will also be implemented in all governorates of the Republic, and aims to vaccinate about 16 million children, for all children in the age group from one day to 5 years.

Taking care of the mother

In a related context, the Ministry of Health and Population announced instructions for mothers during pregnancy, which can be found as follows:

1- Regular visits to the health unit helps in early detection of health problems.

2- Vaccination with tetanus toxoid protects the mother and fetus from the risk of neonatal tetanus, which leads to death.

3- Peaceful nutrition during pregnancy protects the mother and the child from diseases.

4- Follow-up with the doctor during pregnancy, at least once a month, is important to achieve a safe delivery.

5- The spacing between births from 3-5 years is beneficial for your health and the health of your child.

6- Giving birth in health institutions at the hands of specialists is the surest way to preserve your life and the life of your child.

7- It is possible to obtain continuous health care for the child free of charge from mother and child care centers, health centers and units.
