$7.9 Billion.. The volume of trade between Egypt and America in 2022

The Foreign Trade Bulletin issued by the Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics showed that America acquired 7.99% of the total value of Egyptian foreign trade during the period from "January - July 2022."

Trade relations witnessed a growth of 36.5 percent during the first 7 months of 2022 to reach $6.891 billion, compared to $5,048 billion during the same period last year.

• $3 billion deficit in the trade balance between Egypt and America

The value of trade between Egypt and the United States of America increased by 21.6 percent in July to reach $785.58 million, compared to $716,021 million during the same month of 2021.

The value of the trade balance deficit between Egypt and America increased to about $2.978 billion during the first 7 months of 2022, compared to $2.268 billion in the same period last year, an increase of 31.3 percent.

• America accounts for 4.7% of the value of Egypt's exports by the end of July 2022

The value of Egypt’s exports to America increased by 4.8 percent during the period from “January to July 2022” to record 1.457 billion dollars, compared to 1.39 billion dollars during the same period in 2021.

Egypt's exports to the United States of America decreased by 38.4 percent during July 2022, reaching $143,516 million, compared to $233,198 million.

America acquired 4.7 percent of the value of Egypt's exports during the first 7 months of 2022.

• 21.2% growth in Egypt's imports from America in 7 months

The United States of America accounts for 8% of Egypt's imports during the period from "January - July 2022", at a value of 4.434 billion dollars, compared to 3.658 billion dollars during the same period in 2021, an increase of 21.2%.

The value of Egypt's imports from America amounted to about 600,258 million dollars last July, compared to 378,341 million dollars during the same month of 2021, a growth of 58.6%.

The value of Egypt's imports of pharmaceutical products from America during the first 7 months of 2022 jumped to about 287.48 million dollars, compared to 148,268 million dollars during the same period last year, a growth of 93.9 percent.

• Aircraft and ships worth $152 million

The value of Egypt's imports of fuel, mineral oils and their distillation products from America rose by 85.9% to record 808,423 million dollars, compared to 434.95 million dollars.

The value of Egypt’s import bill of aircraft, spaceships and their parts from America during the period from “January to July 2022” increased by 53% to reach 152,322 million dollars, compared to 99,558 million dollars.

Egypt’s imports of grains, oilseeds, medicinal plants and fodder from America increased by 35.1% to reach 1.669 billion dollars, compared to 1.235 billion dollars, and iron and steel imports amounted to 246,706 million dollars, compared to 240.04 million dollars, a growth of 2.8 percent.
