50 EGP fees for withdrawing from ATM machines.. Know the truth
The fact that cash withdrawal fees on ATM cards have increased.
Some news circulated about the Central Bank issuing a decision to impose fees on withdrawals for all bank cards through ATMs, ranging from 20 to 50 pounds.
The media center of the Council of Ministers stated that it communicated with the Central Bank, which confirmed that this news is not true, but rumors.
There are no new fees
The Central Bank stated that it is not correct to impose new fees on cash withdrawals from prepaid bank cards and direct debit cards through ATMs.
Withdrawal is free without any fees
The Central Bank explained that the withdrawal is free without any fees through the ATMs of the bank issuing the card, and with fees not exceeding 5 pounds from any other machine that is not affiliated with the bank.
The Central Bank added that with regard to credit cards, which represent about 7% of the total number of bank cards in the Egyptian market, cash withdrawal fees are determined by the card-issuing bank.
The Central Bank stated that this is with the aim of using these cards for the purposes designated for them, and motivating society to use them in electronic purchases instead of cash transactions.

• Commission for cash withdrawals from ATMs of local banks inside Egypt: 5 pounds for each withdrawal transaction.
• Commission for withdrawing cash from POS machines of local banks inside Egypt: 1.5%, with a minimum of 15 pounds.
• Commission for cash withdrawals from ATMs of foreign banks outside Egypt: 3% of the amount, in addition to 30 pounds for each withdrawal.
Fake news
The Central Bank appealed to the citizens not to be led by this fake news, while drawing information from its official sources.
He also appealed to all media outlets to investigate accuracy and objectivity in publishing news, and to communicate with the concerned authorities to make sure before publishing information that is not based on any facts, leads to confusion of public opinion, angers citizens, and negatively affects the Egyptian economy and the banking sector.
