During the period from April to June 2022, Egypt received foreign direct investments worth $4.77 billion.

  Most of the investments coming to Egypt are from Arab countries, amounting to 1.499 billion dollars, while the European Union countries contributed by pumping 1.498 billion dollars during these three months.

European investments

With regard to European countries, according to the Central Bank's monthly report, net foreign direct investments, "the difference between foreign investments to Egypt and Egyptian investments abroad," came at $1.588 billion.

  The United Kingdom came with investments of approximately $417 billion, and the United States of America $182.5 million.

  While Italy was the largest European country investing in Egypt with $483 million.

The UAE is the largest investor 

Among the European Union countries, the Netherlands was the second largest investor in Egypt during the fourth quarter of the last fiscal year, with investments of $411 billion, Belgium with $149.7 million, Germany with $139 million, and France with $127.7 million.

Arab countries investments

  As for the Arab countries, the UAE invested the most in Egypt with $777.6 million, followed by Kuwait with $233 million.

The State of Bahrain ranked third among the largest Arab countries investing in Egypt during the fourth quarter of the last fiscal year, with $176 million, then Qatar fourth with $146 million, then the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia ranked fifth with $134 million, according to the report of the Central Bank of Egypt, then Lebanon. With 11.2 million dollars, Tunisia with 9.8, and Libya with 8.7 million dollars.

Turkish retreat

On the other hand, Turkish investments witnessed a clear decline during the last quarter of 2022, as it was only 43.5 million dollars from 70.4 million in the previous quarter.

  While Singapore invested 94.7 million dollars, Switzerland 326.4 million dollars, China 198 million dollars, South Korea 70.5 million dollars, India 49 million dollars, Canada 27.8 and Japan 14.5.
