Turkiye exempts Saudi citizens from entry visas for tourism purposes
Turkey decided to exempt citizens of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and 5 other countries from entry visas to visit Turkey for the purpose of tourism.
Entry visa to visit Türkiye
The Turkish Official Gazette published a presidential decree; It stipulates that citizens of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and 5 other countries are exempted from entry visas to visit Turkey for the purpose of tourism.
The Saudi Embassy in Turkey explained, through its account on the X platform (formerly Twitter), that the exemption includes Saudi citizens holding a regular passport for a period of 90 days out of every 180 days.
Exempt countries
Under the decision, citizens of Saudi Arabia, the Emirates, Bahrain, the Sultanate of Oman, Canada, and the United States, who hold ordinary passports, are exempted from the tourist visa, which allows a stay of 90 days.
Unified platform for visas
On December 19, 2023, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia announced the launch of a unified visa platform; With the aim of facilitating the procedures for obtaining visas, as part of the Kingdom’s plan to support tourism in the coming years.
Hajj visa
It includes the Hajj visa, the visit visa for the purpose of Umrah, in addition to the tourist or work visa, and other types of visas that allow its holder to enter the Kingdom.
Working with a unified tourist visa
The launch of the new Saudi platform comes; With Gulf efforts to launch a unified tourist visa, after the decision was approved by the Supreme Council of the Gulf Cooperation Council at the Doha Summit last month.
On January 30, 2023, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in coordination with the relevant authorities and in cooperation with the national air carriers, launched the service of issuing a “visit transit visa” for those arriving by air electronically.
The launch of the service comes with the aim of facilitating coming to the Kingdom for all purposes, and facilitating and automating the procedures for obtaining an entry visa. The visa allows those who are passing by and wishing to enter the Kingdom to perform Umrah and visit the Prophet’s Mosque, in addition to moving around and attending tourist events.
