In an auspicious step towards supporting artistic production in Egypt, Lauren Loves, Adviser for Public Affairs at the American Embassy in Cairo, expressed her overwhelming happiness at attending the 44th Cairo International Film Festival.

The Counselor for Public Affairs at the American Embassy in Cairo expressed her happiness for attending the festival, saying: “I am happy to attend the Cairo International Film Festival, I recently returned from the Conference of Parties (COP27) and President Biden was there.”
On the cooperation between the embassy and the festival, she added: "Congratulations to Hussein Fahmy, who is a wonderful partner for the American embassy and we are very proud of him in terms of exchange programs," revealing an investment of about 4 million pounds in this regard, adding that I have been with Morgan Freeman for 14 years and this is a wonderful and international festival.
• Accelerate the transmission of energy
In a related context, the United States, Egypt and Germany issued a political statement explaining a plan to accelerate energy transition in Egypt through the Egyptian Novi platform for food, water and energy.
• 250 million dollars for energy projects
According to the US State Department, the United States and Germany have committed to mobilizing more than $250 million in resources to support the deployment of 10 gigawatts of wind and solar projects while decommissioning 5 gigawatts of inefficient natural gas generation.
She stated that the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development is coordinating this project, pointing to Egypt's commitment to enhance its nationally determined contribution by quadrupling its share of renewable energy to 42 percent by 2030.
• An ambitious long-term strategy for 2050
Egypt has committed to adopting an ambitious long-term strategy for 2050 with the aim of exploring achieving the goal of achieving net zero greenhouse gas emissions and starting the development of green hydrogen.
Egypt plans to expand the use of zero-emission vehicles, sustainable public transportation, and other solutions to reduce greenhouse gas emissions from transportation.
The United States, Egypt and Germany have also committed to cooperating in reducing methane emissions from Egypt's oil and gas sector.
It should be noted that these commitments achieve significant climate benefits by reducing the emissions of the energy sector in Egypt by about one-fifth, as well as reducing methane gas pollution and enhancing energy security by releasing more than two billion cubic meters of gas.
The improvement in the NDCs announced in Egypt is part of further improvements to the NDCs from major sources of emissions since the 26th United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP26).
