He added Egyptian tourism is moving at a steady pace to achieve the state's target of reaching 30 million tourists annually over the next five years, bringing in revenues exceeding $30 billion.

Pointing out that we are making every effort to achieve the target this year, which is to achieve 15 million tourists, which will reach 19 million tourists next year.

Increased revenues

The minister indicated that there is a steady increase in the incoming tourist movement to Egypt during the current year. The average tourist spending also increased during the first third of this year compared to the same period last year, which is a good indicator of increased revenues.

Grand Egyptian Museum

On the benefit of Egyptian tourism from the opening of the Grand Egyptian Museum, which will take place in the coming months, the Minister of Tourism and Antiquities confirmed that with the opening of the Grand Egyptian Museum, it is expected that it will add to the number of tourists at least about one million tourists annually. They add initial revenues estimated at about a billion dollars annually.

40 billion pounds

The Minister of Tourism and Antiquities said that the volume of spending on the Grand Egyptian Museum project amounted to 40 billion pounds, in addition to the value of the land, indicating that all works in the museum will be completed during next October, provided that the opening date is chosen during the period from the beginning of next November until the end of next February.

Hotel capacity

Major General Atef Moftah, General Supervisor of the Grand Egyptian Museum, said that the hotel capacity is being increased, and there is a plot of land on an area of ​​52 acres. A protocol has been signed between the Ministry of Housing and a large investor to work on a large project to increase hotel capacity directly overlooking the museum.

He pointed out that there are other promising lands that are currently being planned to benefit from, and that the project to be established on an area of ​​52 acres will include hotels and very large investment areas.

In addition to recreational activities that make the visitor to the region, whether Egyptian, Arab, or of any nationality, not leave the region, and this is one of the project's goals.

In addition to the link between the 52-feddan project and the 120-feddan museum land, in addition to another 120-feddan, which was designated for the Shooting Club, and the Giza plateau, with an area of ​​3,400 feddans.
