$15 billion.. Kuwait is Egypt's third largest trading partner

Kuwait comes as the third largest Arab trade partner to Egypt, with trade exchange exceeding $5 billion, and investments amounting to $15 billion.

A member of the Board of Directors of the Federation of Kuwaiti Industries, Khaled Abdul-Ghani Al-Abd Al-Ghani, said that the Egyptian economic reforms stimulate Kuwaiti investment in Egypt.

15 billion dollars Kuwait investments in Egypt

Kuwait comes as the third largest Arab trade partner to Egypt, with trade exchange exceeding $5 billion, and investments amounting to $15 billion, according to Egyptian Finance Minister Dr. Mohamed Maait, in statements during the Egyptian-Kuwaiti Economic Forum on October 3, 2022.

Industrial investments

 “Economic events around the world will not affect Kuwait’s plans to invest in Egypt,” according to Khaled Abdel-Ghani.

 He said that the Kuwaiti business community depends on foreign investments as part of its business, and will not stop its plans for foreign investments in Egypt, and Egypt has an attractive climate for industrial investments, especially renewable energy and hydrogen industries.

Attractive economic reforms for Kuwaiti companies

Abdel Ghani said that the Egyptian government has implemented reform packages for the Egyptian economy over the past five years, making it an attractive country for Arab and international investments, in light of its association with a wide range of trade agreements with many countries in Africa, Asia and Europe.

Abdel-Ghani said that renewable energy projects are among the most important areas that attract Kuwaiti companies to invest in Egypt during the coming period, and other sectors with the modernization of infrastructure such as roads and ports.

 “Investors from Kuwait intend to continue investment plans in Egypt, during 2023, after intensive meetings between the leaders of the two countries in the past year 2022.

105 agreements linking the Egyptian-Kuwaiti economic relations

A member of the Board of Directors of the Federation of Kuwaiti Industries, Khaled Abdul-Ghani, said "Kuwait has about 105 trade agreements with Egypt, in addition to Kuwait depositing about $5 billion in deposits in the Central Bank of Egypt over the past 10 years".
