 Mahmoud Esmat, Minister of the Public Business Sector, met with Christopher Hui, Secretary of Financial Services and Treasury of the Hong Kong Government, and his accompanying delegation, at the Ministry’s General Office in the New Administrative Capital, east of Cairo.

  During the meeting, opportunities for cooperation and investment in companies affiliated with the Ministry were discussed.

Esmat said that the ministry plans to develop, modernize and introduce new technologies to increase production and localize modern industries.

Renewable energy plants

  He said that the ministry is communicating with Chinese companies to establish renewable energy plants to provide clean energy for new aluminum smelter projects.

Esmat stressed the government's interest in strengthening and developing trade and investment relations with China and attracting more Chinese investments in various industrial fields and new technologies. 

He praised the fruitful cooperation between Egypt and China. Esmat reviewed the Ministry's activities and sectors, and efforts to restructure and improve the performance of subsidiaries. It also provided various investment opportunities for foreign investors.

BRICS group

Esmat pointed out that Egypt's accession to the BRICS group starting next year is an important step to open new areas of cooperation for Chinese investors.

He pointed out the importance of taking advantage of Hong Kong's location as one of the most important financial centers in Asia in providing the necessary investments for development projects.

  The minister said that the ministry pays great attention to exploiting its assets and managing them well to ensure increased returns.

He added: “The Ministry welcomes cooperation and partnership with private milk and seeks the results of its experience in developing affiliated companies, especially in the industrial, chemical and textile industries.”

There is an investment map of the most important projects that can be characterized by cooperation with joint-stock companies in order to achieve the facilities provided by the state for foreign investment.

Attracting foreign investments

Christopher Howie praised the ministry's efforts to attract foreign investments to the private sector and subsidiaries. The most important of which is the interest of major companies in pursuing green economic projects and clean energy generation plants from wind and sun.
