The value of trade between Egypt and Mauritania witnessed an increase of $42.9 million in 2022, compared to $38.5 million in 2021, an increase of 11.3%, according to the report of the Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics.

Egyptian exports to Mauritania 

The value of Egyptian exports to Mauritania amounted to $41.1 million in 2022, compared to $38.3 million in 2021, an increase of 7.3%.

Egyptian imports from Mauritania

The value of Egyptian imports from Mauritania amounted to $1.8 million in 2022, compared to $241,000 in 2021, an increase of 644.4%.

Mauritanian investments in Egypt

The value of Mauritanian investments in Egypt amounted to 512 thousand dollars during the fiscal year 2021/2022, compared to 10 thousand dollars during the fiscal year 2020/2021.

Remittances of Egyptians working in Mauritania

The value of remittances of Egyptians working in Mauritania amounted to 985 thousand dollars during the fiscal year 2021/2022, compared to 233 thousand dollars during the fiscal year 2020/2021, an increase of 322.7%.

Transfers of Mauritanians working in Egypt

The value of transfers of Mauritanians working in Egypt amounted to 139 thousand dollars during the fiscal year 2021/2022, compared to 141 thousand dollars during the fiscal year 2020/2021.

Important commodity groups that Egypt exported 

Regarding the most important commodity groups that Egypt exported to Mauritania during the past year, the agency explained that they are fertilizers with a value of $11 million, and milk and dairy products with a value of $8.9 million.

Egypt exported salt and sulfur to Mauritania at a value of $7.2 million, vegetables at a value of $4.3 million, and carpets and floor coverings at a value of $4.1 million.

Important commodity groups that Egypt imported
