“Ministry of Transport”: No new contracts to buy railway cars from outside Egypt
No new contracts for the purchase of tractors or railway cars from outside Egypt.
An informed source at the Egyptian Railways Authority revealed the fact that citizens had collected a ticket to enter train stations worth 3 pounds.
This matter is not new and has been in effect for some time, pointing out that the collection of the 3-pound ticket is only for non-train ticket holders.
This ticket is for everyone inside waiting for anyone, not for people who have interrupted a ticket, and you get it from anyone who wants to enter the platforms without booking a train ticket and you don't get to wait in the lobby area of the stations.
The aim is to control the process of entering the stations and prevent the entry of beggars and street vendors. This applies to all train stations, not only to Egypt Station.
No import from
On the other hand, the Minister of Transport and Communications, Assem Salem revealed that the ministry is racing against time to localize all transport industries in Egypt, an approach applied by Egyptian government ministries under the slogan “No import from abroad and support for national industries.”
The Ministry of Transport Implemented comprehensive plan to localize the various types of mobile units industry and the industries feeding them in Egypt, through cooperation with major international companies specialized in this field.
Transportation industry
The Ministry report, indicated that cooperation with the Czech company “Skoda” in the field of overhaul, rehabilitation and maintenance of railway tractors, and cooperation in the field of localizing the manufacture of spare parts necessary to raise the efficiency, rehabilitation and maintenance of old Henschel tractors in the Railways Authority.
It includes localization of the transportation industry, feeding industries and spare parts for railway moving units in accordance with international standards through cooperation with major international companies specialized in this field.To benefit from its experience and the modern technology it uses in this field and to transfer knowledge and technology to Egyptian engineers and workers.
It comes within the framework of implementing the directives of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi to localize the transport industry in Egypt. Including the manufacture of mobile units and their spare parts according to the latest methods, through cooperation with major international specialized companies, as well as maximizing the participation of the private sector in all projects, including transportation projects.
