Egyptian stock market indices gained 31 billion pounds at the end of today’s trading session, Sunday, November 19, 2023, the beginning of the week’s sessions, supported by purchases by Egyptians and foreigners.
Arab trading tended to sell, with trades amounting to 3.8 billion pounds, and the market capitalization of restricted shares rose to 31 billion pounds, at a level of 1.679 trillion pounds.
The EGX
The EGX 70 index of equal weights rose by 0.89% to close at 4909 points, and the EGX 100 index of equal weights rose by 1.07% to close at 7236 points.
The market capitalization of companies listed on the Egyptian Stock Exchange was about 1.679 trillion pounds, and Egyptian and foreign investors tended to buy with a net value of 125.6 million pounds and 9.5 million pounds, respectively, while the Arabs intended to sell with a net value of 135.1 million pounds, while the total value reached 135.1 million pounds. Circulation is about 3.8 billion pounds, and the quantity is 1.6 billion papers executed in 115,000 transactions.
Misr Hotels shares topped the list of registered shares by 20% to close at 230.44 pounds, then Delta Sugar by 15.35% at 83.19 pounds, then Pyramisa Hotels and Tourist Villages - Pyramisa, with an increase of 13.07% to close at 94.02 pounds.
While Cairo Investment and Real Estate Development Company Sera Education came in fourth place, rising by 11.11% to close at 12.8 pounds, and fifth was the Architectural Engineering Industries Company for Construction and Development - ICON, with a 10% increase at 13.2 pounds per share.
Boycott companies
Since the launch of Operation “Al-Aqsa Flood” on October 7, and the subsequent violent Israeli bombing of the Gaza Strip, calls for boycott have increased and achieved great popularity in many Arab countries, including Egypt.

The boycott campaigns included popular and union efforts to express support for the Palestinian people, and these campaigns were accompanied by rapid movements and calls through social media sites, which made them achieve unprecedented popular success, according to one of the founders of the boycott campaign in Egypt, who explained that these movements were not the result of the moment and were not merely A temporary reaction to the Israeli bombing that Gaza is being subjected to at the present time, according to him.
