In a new step towards restoring normal relations between Cairo and Ankara, Turkish Foreign Minister, Mevlut Cavusoglu, is visiting Egypt

The mutual visits at the level of foreign ministers are the first since the dispute between the two countries began in 2013.

Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu said that he discussed with his Egyptian counterpart strengthening cooperation in the field of energy.

Mevlut Cavusoglu said, during a joint press conference with Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry, that Turkey hopes to increase economic cooperation with Egypt.

Mevlut Cavusoglu said that the talks in Egypt touched on ways to strengthen relations, thanking Egypt for the assistance provided by the Egyptian government to Turkey after the catastrophe of the devastating earthquake.

Egyptian aid to Turkey

Davutoğlu continued that the Egyptian aid to Turkey was serious, with the dispatch of several planes loaded with aid, indicating that the relations between Cairo and Ankara are important and must be strengthened, and this needs help and support from the political leadership in the two countries.

Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu also urged Turkey's partners to double its investments in Egypt.
