$7.5 billion volume of trade exchange between Egypt and India
Growth rate of trade exchange between Egypt and India reached the equivalent of $7.5 billion
Egypt and India, each country represents a very great value to the other, given the volume of trade exchange between them and the volume of investments.
India is witnessing these days developmental, economic and commercial leaps that it has not known before, and it is in the interest of Egypt to attract some of these investments.
Therefore, during President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi visit to India last Tuesday, he addressed many important issues, including:
• strengthening bilateral relations
• expanding military cooperation
• Developing trade and economy.
It can be said that, growth rate of trade exchange between Egypt and India reached the equivalent of $7.5 billion.
President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi and the Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi, witnessed the signing of agreements of understanding and cooperation between the two countries, which are:
• A memorandum of cooperation in the field of cyber security
• Memorandum of understanding in the field of agriculture
• Memorandum of understanding in youth affairs
• Cooperation agreement in the field of media and broadcasting
The most important information about the relationship between Egypt and India:
• India is the seventh trading partner of Egypt
• India for Egypt is the third most important place for export
• For India, Egypt is a window to African markets
• There are more than 50 Indian companies operating within the Egyptian market
• There is a clear difference in the commodity and service structure of the two countries, which helps in trade exchange between them
The Egyptian President's visit to India coincides with the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Egypt and India.
Sisi previously visited New Delhi twice, the first in October 2015 and the second in September 2016, but this visit comes in the context of the first invitation of an Egyptian president to participate as a chief guest on the Indian Republic Day.
