$24 million.. 4 grants to support Egyptians with health and educational
The House of Representatives approves 4 non-refundable grant agreements with development partners , at a value of $24 million.
In its plenary session, the House of Representatives approved 4 grant agreements with multilateral and bilateral development partners, in the fields of education and health care development, at a value of $24 million, in addition to approving a program to enhance food security and resilience.
French scholarship :
According to a statement issued by the Ministry of International Cooperation, the House of Representatives approved a grant from the French Development Agency worth 3 million euros, equivalent to 3.247 million dollars.
The grant aims to finance the development and development of public services and utilities and support employment in 4 unplanned areas in Greater Cairo, through the replacement, renovation, rehabilitation and maintenance of old sewage lines, laying new sewage lines, developing areas, improving the environmental situation, and creating short-term job opportunities for unskilled workers, through infrastructure development projects.
American scholarship :
The House of Representatives also approved a grant from the United States of America of $13.05 million, in favor of the project to improve health outcomes for the targeted groups, which aims to support Egypt’s current program for family planning and development, reproductive health, and the demographic and health survey activity in Egypt, bringing the total funding for the project to about 62 million euros.
Education grant :
A $7.5 million US grant for basic education that aims to improve basic skills for students in basic education, empower secondary school students with real-life math and science, improve reading and arithmetic skills for adults, and train new teachers to bring the total funds available for the agreement Education is about 131.6 million dollars.
Technical support grant :
In another context, a grant of 500 thousand euros, equivalent to 541.3 thousand dollars, was approved by the French Development Agency, which directed the technical support project to support the teaching of French as a foreign language in public schools to keep pace with the requirements of the modern era and enhance the preparation of students for the labor market.
