Egyptian cotton
On the other hand, Mansour Abdel-Ghany, spokesman for the Ministry of Business Sector, said that the cost of the plan to develop the spinning and weaving industry in Egypt is estimated at 50 billion pounds.
He pointed out that the cost of machinery and equipment is estimated at 450 million euros, and the development plan depends in part on the self-resources of these companies.
At the beginning of his speech, a spokesman for the "business sector" confirmed that Egyptian cotton is still "Number One" in the world.
He pointed out that Egyptian cotton still enjoys its great reputation globally, and is also the best in the world, and its name is not, as they say, "long-staple", but rather "extremely long-staple cotton".
He drew attention to the fact that a number of countries had begun to develop long-staple varieties, but there was no comparison between them and the extra long-staple Egyptian cotton.
