Engineer Tarek El-Molla, Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources, during a meeting with Romanian Prime Minister Nicolae Chuca and the accompanying delegation, talked about the Damietta complex for the liquefaction and export of natural gas.

The visit was on February 5th and aimed to advance bilateral relations in a number of fields, the most important of which is energy and natural gas, as it is one of the priorities of cooperation between Egypt and Romania.

The meeting witnessed a presentation on the Damietta complex for the liquefaction and export of natural gas on the Mediterranean coast.

The Romanian Prime Minister praised the Damietta complex and its capabilities, and confirmed that he is looking forward to studying aspects of cooperation in the field of liquefied natural gas.

The plans for the development of the factory since its operation in 2005 and the stages of stopping and restarting it again were reviewed, bringing the total of what was exported to 500 shipments.

9. According to the company, the design and construction of the factory dock allows loading and unloading of ships whose tonnage ranges from 40,000 to 200,000 cubic meters.

10. The factory is owned by 50% of the Italian Eni, 40% of the Egyptian Natural Gas Holding Company "EGAS" and 10% of the General Petroleum Corporation.
