The Ministry of Transport is preparing to apply the latest technology for the unified ticket and the smart card for transportation to take the light rail and the third line metro, provided that new projects are included in the unified ticket project, such as railways and other metro lines.

Transport intends to launch a unified card, which was previously called the unified ticket for transport, which was prepared by the Ministry of Transport through the Trans ET railway company.

10 Information about the card that will be presented by the Ministry of Transport during the coming period:

1- The unified card will be similar to the smart card currently used in the metro lines.

2- One card will allow the independence of the railway, metro, monorail and electric train.

3- The passenger will not need to obtain a different card for each means of mass transportation.

4- The unified card will be an alternative to paper tickets.

5- The unified card in its first stage will be implemented with the continuation of paper tickets.

6- Passengers will have a choice between the unified card or the purchase of paper tickets before each trip.

7- Modern and frequency buses will be added to work within the smart card system.

8- The one-card project aims to make it easier for citizens and not have to stand in queues in front of reservation windows at stations to buy paper tickets or recharge more than one smart card.

9- The unified card application will gradually cancel tickets and smart cards that are currently used in some means of transportation.
